Lombardo

The location worked perfectly for us, and the place was impressively tidy and well organized. We’d hesitated because of the reviews, but ended up pleasantly surprised. Our triple room also came with its own bathroom.

The shower was filthy, and the AC cost extra and woke us in the night with its loud noise. The triple room was a decent size but very basic. We didn’t end up paying the extra kitchen charge because he waived it, though we’d have been disappointed if we had. The location was handy for the Colosseum, with a nice bar downstairs on the street, and Roma Termini was a 15-minute walk away.

The location was really convenient, and the bedrooms were just right. The bathroom grout could’ve been cleaner, and the kitchen was basic, but having both bedrooms and the central kitchen to ourselves meant we had the whole apartment, which was the ideal arrangement. I booked through Booking.com for a low price, and the photos and description matched what we found. The owner sent all the information we needed, and communication was easy. I know the earlier reviews, but nothing unpleasant surprised me, so I gave it five stars. If you want the same kind of chain hotel you can find anywhere, this probably isn’t for you. I liked it as a more rustic, authentic place.

The people running B&B Lombardo were so kind and polite, and always ready to help, especially with my suitcases 😅. My room was cozy, clean, and carefully kept, and I had a wonderful stay in Rome. It felt like home. I’d happily recommend it for a few days in the city, and I’ll definitely come back to the Lombardo.
