The self check-in system was broken, there were no keys at the property, and the phone number didn’t work. We were left waiting outside the building for more than 30 minutes. The host was rude, called me “stupid,” and threatened to call the police to make us leave, even though the stay was fully paid and he had already received the money. He demanded passport photos through his private WhatsApp and refused to provide an invoice. He also said he could “see me on camera,” which suggests hidden surveillance. Unsafe, unprofessional, and highly suspicious. Strongly avoid.

We booked a month ahead and paid in full for six nights in Rome over Christmas with my family, knowing hotels and apartments would be hard to find. When I tried to contact the owner, they disappeared, and even my hotel agent couldn’t find them. I eventually got their contact details, but they ignored me and said the whole apartment was already full. I sent all the receipts and reservation details, but they still wouldn’t respond. It’s ridiculous that they could take all my money and then ignore me. My family and I had to find another hotel at the very last minute, and it cost a lot. Be careful and avoid getting scammed.

The bathroom was down the hall from our bedroom, and getting into it meant entering a code. I even ended up peeing outside the door once because I couldn't get the code right. The codes were the same for all the rooms, which felt unsafe, and the property’s codes often didn’t work properly. We had to wait outside in the heat with our luggage for an hour before we could get into the building, after several more locked doors there was still no front desk or anyone to help. I had messaged before our flight after seeing the negative reviews, but got no reply, and no one answered when we asked how to enter our room. The room had no closet or bathrobes, and there were no fresh towels, toiletries, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. There was no housekeeping or trash collection either, and the bathroom was dirty. We wanted to move to another hotel, but the property wouldn’t refund us. On our first night, we heard a man banging on the front door and fighting outside our room. It felt unsafe and unpleasant. The elevator was very old and could only fit two people, with doors you had to open and close yourself. I have proof of the safety issues, the poor support, and how dirty the place was.

We couldn’t get into the property when we arrived, and had to book another hotel on the spot for all five nights of our trip. We’d booked through booking.com in March, but the property had sent us no instructions or other communication. Another couple happened to arrive at the same time and let us through the several security doors, each requiring a PIN we hadn’t been given. It seemed to be run from a residential apartment, rather than being a real hotel. We couldn’t reach anyone by phone, even using an Italian number, and the number didn’t seem to exist. I wouldn’t stay here.
