Cervara Park Hotel

As a tour guide who has travelled around Italy for a long time, I’ve never had a group treated this way. The rooms had mold, windows that wouldn’t close properly, and ants. The receptionist blamed the ants on guests bringing food into their rooms. The food was a disaster for a four-star hotel. There are no catering facilities, and the breakfast bar is tiny, with pastries, some premade sandwiches, juice, and coffee. The room fits at most 15 people. Dinner was cold and tasteless, and came from a caterer. One staff member, Mr. Imail, was really okay and tried to do his best. The receptionist just took the bill and didn’t bother with the group. I wouldn’t recommend this place to groups or individual guests. The connection to the center isn’t bad, but the district is on the city outskirts, with no shops or bars and a bit of a dangerous feel. The hotel doesn’t deserve even three stars. There aren’t any glasses in the rooms, so I guess they added the four stars themselves.

We ended up skipping breakfast after the first morning because it was so poor. The food was stale, clearly not fresh, and there was very little to choose from. It was barely edible. The room wasn’t cleaned properly, and when we asked for basic amenities, our requests were ignored or took ages. Staff were unhelpful and seemed uninterested, so we felt like a nuisance. When my partner and I woke up covered in bites, we reported the bed bugs to the front desk. The staff were dismissive and rude, offered no real solution, and didn’t apologize. It was an uncomfortable, frustrating stay from beginning to end. I’d never recommend this hotel. Spend your money elsewhere and avoid the experience we had.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The room had very little light, though, and smelled strongly of cigarettes. The electricity also kept cutting out randomly, about once every 30 minutes.

The location wasn’t ideal, though buses and the metro made it easy to get to attractions. The staff in the dining area were unpleasant, and one of them was also the morning receptionist. The lift was filthy, and when I got stuck in it, I was just told to try again. I didn’t use it after that. Our room hadn’t been made up after the previous guest, and nobody apologized. They moved us straight away, but the replacement smelled damp. We asked for another room because of my sister’s asthma, but were told there were no others available. There were mosquitoes on the landing, so they can get into the rooms very quickly. Keep the AC blasting.
