Orlando was so helpful and pointed us to local places that were good value. The room was roomy and comfortable, and the location was excellent. It's a five-minute walk to the metro, and from there Rome is yours to explore. If you're heading just to the Vatican, it's a 10-15 minute walk. There's a bakery nearby in a basement that's worth trying. I'd be happy to stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at the Cielo Vaticano Guest House. It's a five-minute walk to Ottaviano metro and about 10 minutes to the Vatican. You're close to everything you need, but far enough out to avoid the tourist trap feel.

Paola and Salvatore are incredibly warm hosts, and their folder of recommendations was consistently useful. The location is great: about 10 minutes on foot to St Peter's and five to the Ottovanio stop. It's just far enough from the main sights that nearby restaurants haven't added a Lazy Tourist Tax to their prices. The room had everything we needed: fast Wi-Fi, a hot shower, a comfortable bed, A/C, a fridge, and a microwave. For pizza, try Tom and Jerry's down the street, where you can get amazing pies by the kilo. Dolce Manièra is also worth a visit for a bag of pastries under €3. This is an amazing place to stay if you get the chance.

A reservation was made by mistake, and getting a refund took a huge amount of effort. Even then, we didn't get the full amount back. The owner is greedy, and the service was very rude. I wouldn't recommend this place. If I could, I'd give it zero stars.

The price is low, but don't count on the breakfast being good. The location and cleanliness, though, were very good.
