The place is worth visiting, but the crowds need managing better. Groups seemed to wander around without much direction, mostly stopping to pose for photos while their partners took them. 😏 I can only imagine how it gets in peak summer.

It was incredible seeing the history and the ancient building up close. It gets busy, and in summer it’s really hot, so bring an umbrella.

We had a great time on this tour, and it was especially good with our kids. Meeting by the Colosseum metro was easy, and the company sent useful visiting tips by email before our Rome trip. The skip-the-line tickets and guides were excellent. We learned about the amphitheatre’s original name, who built it and how long construction took, as well as the gladiators and wild animals used in the games and shows. We also enjoyed visiting the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Next time, we’ll try the underground tour to see the dungeons. I’d recommend this travel agency for Colosseum tours and activities in Rome.
