Dandi Domus

The location made getting around Rome easy. The Colosseum was about a 10-minute walk, the Metro just 1.5 minutes away, and there was a grocery store in the next building with several food options nearby. Our room was clean, as advertised, and reasonably priced. The host greeted us quickly, showed us to the room, and gave us a short introduction to the highlights of Rome. We had an excellent stay at Dandi Domus.

The only real downside was that the water wasn’t hot enough for a shower. Otherwise, the room was clean and spacious, just the right size for us and our children. Access was great, and the staff were very kind.

The staff were welcoming, and the cleaning was very good. Tea and biscuits were provided too. The room and bathroom were both very, very small, and there was no bidet, which is unusual in Italy. Fine for a short stay, but unacceptable for a longer one.

For a budget stay, the location is handy: about a 15-minute walk from Roma Termini, with Metro Line A next door, grocery shops just outside, and plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby. The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and other spots are at most a 30-minute walk, while St. Peter’s Square takes around 30-40 minutes by Metro. Staff were cheerful and super helpful. The beds were very comfy, everything from the rooms to the sheets and towels was clean, and we had no hot-water problems. There’s also a health faucet by the toilet, unlike in many European places. We stayed three nights as four people and would stay again. The bathroom door had no inside lock, the hangers were up high in the cupboard, and the bath was tiny but manageable. Water sometimes spilled onto the floor because the glass shower door didn’t seal. There was only a showerhead and one hook for clothes or towels. None of that was a major issue.
