Vasco at the bar really made an impression. He was warm and professional, chatting with me in English and my wife in Spanish, and helped us feel at home. The welcome from the rest of the staff was just as friendly. Check-in was easy, and our room was spotless with lovely decor. Having two separate bathrooms was such a thoughtful touch. We had an amazing stay at Hotel Degli Artisti.

Breakfast was included and genuinely good, especially the coffee service. The rooftop bar was another nice perk. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the room was clean and just right for our one-night stop during a longer trip. A good experience.

The staff were warm and caring, and everything worked at the level you'd hope for. We were celebrating our mum's birthday, so choosing a hotel felt stressful because we really wanted the trip to go smoothly. Instead, the hotel gave us lovely surprises and exceeded our expectations. The room had beautiful furniture and quality materials, cosy beds and a comfortable atmosphere. We're happy to have a recommendation for friends looking for somewhere to stay in Rome.

The location was good, about a 5 minute walk from a Metro stop and 7 minutes from the Trevi Fountain, and the rest of the staff were lovely. The two women at reception were consistently nice, recommended good restaurants and even called taxis from their personal phone accounts when the hotel internet was having trouble. The young man with curly hair at the rooftop bar was nice too. That's why I gave 2 stars instead of negative 1. The serious issue was breakfast. My mother has several life threatening allergies, so we brought a card with Italian translations and pictures of everything she can't eat. On our first morning, she showed it to the blonde woman at the buffet and asked about the food. The woman glanced at it, went to the back, then brought out packaged gluten free items saying, "It's okay! It's okay!" We checked the ingredients ourselves, and every item contained something my mother is deadly allergic to. When we pointed that out, the woman skimmed the card again, gestured at the baked goods and said, "No, no," then gave it back and went to ask someone else if they wanted a cappuccino. We'd used this same card at every other restaurant and hotel during our week in Italy, and people took time to check ingredients or ask a chef. Here, despite the clear translation and pictures, it seemed like she assumed every allergy meant gluten free and didn't care. They label some common allergens beside the food, but anything beyond that list seems to get little attention. It felt as if serving coffee mattered more to the breakfast staff than a guest's life. There was also a problem with the Do Not Disturb setup. The sign is digital and depends on the room power, which needs a key card inserted. There's nothing to hang on the door. We turned it on before leaving, but took the key with us so we could get back in. The maid then entered and cleaned, moving things we'd deliberately left in particular places. We ended up making and taping a paper sign to the door for the rest of the stay. If you're alone with one key, it seems you can't leave the room with Do Not Disturb on.
