Domus Alberti

As first-time visitors to Rome, we weren't sure what to expect, but the friendly staff, cleanliness, and easy walking access all exceeded it. Domus Alberti was a great choice, and we couldn't be happier with our stay.

I was unsure about staying somewhere without a reception desk, but Apin gave clear directions for finding the building and getting into the suite. The tiny elevator, about two feet by four, was a fun experience. The breakfast room stays open all day, so you can grab coffee, a pastry, or fruit whenever you like. Apin, the proprietor, was friendly, helpful, and available. The location worked well for us: an easy walk to the train station, about 15 minutes to the Colosseum, around 20 to Trevi, and a 50-minute walk to the Vatican. There’s a good restaurant next door, plus plenty of other places to eat and shop nearby. The room was clean and comfortable. I loved this property and would stay again.

Apin really made the place special. She was welcoming, friendly, and full of helpful information, and I miss our morning chats. The rooms and bathrooms were a good size, spotless, and nice to look at. Having a kitchen stocked around the clock with fruit, drinks, pastries, cereal, a toaster, and a microwave was such a bonus. I'd love to come back.

Apin was lovely with our kids, even going out of her way to buy them treats. The room was nice and well priced for Rome, and we enjoyed our stay. We could walk to pretty much all the sights, and the train station, bus stop, and metro were also close. One thing to know: the old elevator only fits two people. It was a bit awkward for our family with two kids and a stroller, but we managed. Thanks to Apin and the staff at Domus Alberti!
