El Dorado Colosseum

I usually don’t leave negative accommodation reviews, even after dirty or unpleasant stays. But they wouldn’t make an exception and cancel my booking, even though my mother had died that same week. I can understand a bad experience, but this showed a level of empathy I just can’t accept.

The shared kitchen has a coffee machine and fridge guests can use, and check-in was easy to do ourselves. The staff were nice and always replied on WhatsApp. I didn’t feel unsafe in the nearby streets. We stayed three nights a few days ago, and this small, clean hotel worked well for couples. The shower is small, but manageable. I’d recommend it and would stay again.

Breakfast vouchers for nearby cafés were a great touch. You get a croissant and really good coffee, and the staff were very helpful. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, with a good price for what you get. The walls are very thin, though, so we could hear the neighbors arguing or watching TV. The bathroom could use some updating, but it wasn’t a major issue. The location is excellent, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Right in the middle of Rome, and the major sights were easy to get to. A comfortable stay, and I’d happily come back.
