Hotel Elite

We booked a family room for four in early January, and the stay was great. Ornella at the front desk was especially welcoming. We arrived early, left our luggage, went out into the city, and returned to our room on the second floor. There was good space, all the amenities we needed, and tea, coffee, and biscuits replenished daily. The internet was excellent and fast. The reception area felt cozy and worked for kids and adults alike, with baby football, a writing board, XO, and other games. Water, biscuits, fruit, and croissants were available throughout the day. The location was excellent for walking to many sights, especially the Spanish Steps, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, and Piazza Novella. Nothing went wrong, and thanks again to Ornella for making it such a warm experience. One thing to keep in mind: you have to climb stairs to the first floor, which could be difficult for people with disabilities or older guests. The elevator barely fits three people.

The rooms are small, and the photos are misleading. We also found the hotel very basic, though otherwise things were okay. I chose it for the location and because it was advertised as “soundproof,” but that wasn’t true. The walls are paper thin, and we could hear everything in the hallway and next door. A family stayed beside us, and their baby’s crying woke us at 6 every morning. It felt as if we were in the same room. Our window faced the main street, which was really noisy when open. There was no air conditioning in our room during the three days we stayed, so opening it was the way to get fresh air. If you need quiet, this might not be the hotel for you.

The room was good enough, with a comfortable bed, a good shower, and blackout curtains. There isn’t much room in the bathroom or shower. You have to climb some stairs to reach the tiny elevator, which fits two people.

Ornella, Daniele, and the rest of the staff were so kind while we were visiting Roma. Their warmth helped make our Italy trip one of the best we’ve had. The hotel was a cozy place to rest, and their restaurant recommendations were really good.
