Hotel Emmaus

We spent four days at this hotel on a recent trip to Rome. It’s next to St. Peter’s Basilica and within walking distance of excellent restaurants and convenient grocery stores. The staff were kind and helpful, and gave us useful advice about laundry and getting around.

The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe at night, with lots of shops, cafes, restaurants, and pizzerias nearby. The hotel is right beside The Vatican, and the prices were very fair. It’s not new, but it has plenty of charm, and was clean and comfortable. The beds were especially comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, with breads, rolls, sliced meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cereals, and pastries. The ladies serving were so kind, and made some of the best coffee I had in Italy. Front desk staff were cordial, courteous, and helpful. I’d be happy to stay here in Rome again. Thank you!

We stayed four nights at Emmaus Hotel. It’s an economical, clean, and quite basic place in a handy spot near restaurants and cafes. The hotel itself is old. In my room the bathroom was cramped, and the showerhead sat very low, almost touching my head at 5' 10". The location is hard to beat if you’re visiting the Vatican, and transit routes nearby can take you downtown. Everyone was helpful, friendly, and professional, from reception to the morning breakfast team. I’d stay there again.
