Favola Romana

Favola Romana Guest House was decent, and I really appreciated Ms. Julia getting in touch later and helping us when we were exhausted. But we’d requested an early check-in and still waited longer than expected. There was nowhere to sit or leave our bags, so my wife and I had to wait at a nearby café in the rain with our heavy luggage after a long flight. By the time we got into the room, most popular attractions were already closed, including Termini Station. For couples, I’d suggest choosing a hotel over a guest house.

It works for a low budget and the price is okay, though the area isn’t the best. My room smelled of cigarette smoke, which I really hate.

Julia was great about keeping in touch, and her English was really helpful since I don’t know much Italian. The room was clean, the bathroom was a good size, and the beds were comfortable. Having a washing machine was a nice bonus. It’s also conveniently located, about a ten-minute walk from Termini station. I’d definitely recommend staying here in Rome.

We had a horrible stay. The toilet seat was broken, the toilet was dirty and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned, and there were lots of silverfish in our room. With the temperature above 38, there was no cold water in the bathroom or toilet, and showering with hot water was impossible. The air conditioner was noisy enough to keep us from sleeping and leaked so much that the basket beneath it filled quickly. The owner or cleaning person didn’t empty it, so we had to do that ourselves. The owner took payment in cash and wouldn’t accept a card.
