Fitzroy Allegria Suites

I stayed here back in 2015, and it was much cleaner and more decent then. Not sure what changed, but this time the room was filthy and dusty, with old, broken things everywhere. The dust and dirt marks show in the photos I posted. It was also very expensive for this kind of room. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The pictures bear no resemblance to the place. They must be from the last renovation, about 20 years ago. The mattress felt like bricks, the toilet was nearly falling over, and the walls were marked up like someone had wheelspun a motor bike on them. There was no soap in the dispenser. The duvet looked like someone's front door mat, and the pillows might as well have been empty pillowcases. A light was hanging off the ceiling, and the curtains didn't fit the window or close properly. Other guests' doors kept grinding against the flooring, so there was constant noise. And the shelf above the bed is placed bizarrely. Sit up too fast in the night and say goodbye to your forehead.

They deleted our reservation at first, then contacted us just 3 hours before we were due to arrive in Rome and told us to go there. That wasn't a good idea: the bathroom was dirty, we were given one pillow, and the toilet was broken. Very disappointing!

It's a comfortable place on the third floor, right on the bus route to all the key sites. The main station is a 20-minute walk away.
