Florian Rooms

Florian’s cafe had excellent pastries and desserts, and the pizza was the best authentic Italian pizza. It’s part of Florian’s Room guest house, which is less than a 5 minute walk from Roma Termini train station and bus station. There are also restaurants, a laundromat, and other tourist spots nearby. The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the room especially exceeded our expectations. Ms. Fabiana gave great service and accommodated my 2 daughters on the night we arrived. It was our first visit and we had a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely book here again.

The rooms look lovely and the beds were comfortable, and the staff were nice and welcoming. But we barely slept, and for what we paid, that was a real shame. Traffic noise came through the badly sealed, unfinished window frames even at night, and the doorway between the rooms didn’t block sound well, so we had loud neighbours for a couple of nights. The electrical outlets weren’t secured properly; this was blamed on us, so I fixed them to avoid being charged, even though they hadn’t been installed right in the first place. The triple room photos made it look like there were separate rooms, but all three beds are in one room. The location is fairly good, though it can feel unsafe at night, with some scary looking men hanging around the building.

The bed was comfortable, the shower was good, and it’s good value close to Rome Termini. But check-in was confusing. We and other guests couldn’t find the place or figure out where to get the keys because no instructions were provided. We asked the restaurant next door, and they sent us to Florian's Cafe, about 100m from the building. After checking in at 3pm, we napped and woke up with no electricity. We later learned at Florian's Cafe that power was off from 4-8pm, but nobody had told us when booking or checking in.

The room was very clean, right by the train station, and great value. A traditional Italian breakfast is included at the café down the street, where you also check in and out. The WiFi was quite slow, so I took off a star. One clarification: this isn’t a hostel, despite what someone mentioned. There’s a hostel on the floor below, but it isn’t affiliated.
