Floris Hotel

The location made getting around easy, with Repubblica metro just a block away and places like Piazza Venezia and Barberini nearby. Our room was lovely and cleaned daily, and everyone on staff was kind and professional. Breakfast was decent and had the essentials. I’d been concerned by the negative comments I’d read, but our stay at Floris hotel was absolutely fine. I’d happily recommend it for a trip to Roma.

The most upsetting part of my stay was how the management handled my stolen travel documents. They were taken from my private room, and although I reported it to reception right away and filed a police report, I waited several days and had to follow up repeatedly before getting formal written acknowledgment through a management representative at the front desk. Each time, I was told someone would contact me shortly. Nobody did, so I eventually had to return to the hotel and wait until I received the document. I needed it for embassy and travel procedures so I could resume my duties abroad. I understand investigations can take time, but a prompt, clear response after a theft in a guest room should be a basic part of hospitality. The front desk staff stayed polite and professional, and my room was clean and carefully prepared. There were visible marks on the walls that could use minor maintenance. The hotel is on the fourth floor of an old building with several other hotels on lower floors. Construction near the entrance may bother arriving guests, and the lift is very small, with room for only one or two people and little luggage. The staff were courteous and the room comfortable, but management's poor communication and delayed response left me very disappointed. I’m sharing this to alert future guests to take precautions and to encourage better security, communication, and support in situations like this.

The central location worked well for us, and we walked everywhere. Even so, the rooms stayed quiet. The staff were very friendly, especially the person who checked us in. But at AUD372 a night, I expected more from a three-star hotel: there was mould in the bathroom, holes in the bedsheet, and the toilet seat shifted around. I’d give it 2.5 stars if that were an option.

The breakfast had a typical Italian spread and worked well for vegetarians. The hotel is handy for the train and metro, with lots of good restaurants nearby, and it was easy to reach the sights from there. Victoria at Reception was especially friendly and helped us with several things, including local transport guidance and arranging another customer's booking. We had a great experience, and I’d suggest the hotel to people traveling alone or with family.
