Hotel Giubileo

The room was so smelly and old that we couldn't rest, and there was no way to lock its door from the inside. About 30 minutes after we arrived, four people came into the room without knocking and said they needed to take bathroom measurements. An hour later, the toilet started leaking. There were no other rooms available, but the hotel refused to refund us. The smell was everywhere, and despite the central location, the windows barely blocked street noise. A horrible stay. I wouldn't recommend it.

During our holiday in Rome, everything was wonderful. We had a clean room in a central location, and the staff were kind and helpful. The location is the only good thing here. The Wi-Fi was poor, the rooms weren't refreshed or tidied properly, and the beds were uncomfortable. The air conditioning feels like it's from the last century, and there wasn't even shampoo or shower gel. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but we got none. A horrible experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

For the price, especially as the cheapest option in the area, I thought the hotel was in good shape and good value. It was clean, warm in winter, and the bed was comfortable; there was also a fridge and kettle in the room. The neighbourhood felt safe, near Santa Maria Maggiore and Termini station. Some people complain about things like chipping paint, but this hotel was fine. My one issue was that some staff speak only English, not Italian, which could be a problem for Italian guests. They were courteous, though, and someone was always at the desk.
