Hotel Canova

The location is fantastic, with the main sights around 10-15 minutes away on foot, and it was very quiet around the hotel. The reception staff were really friendly and happy to answer our questions. Our room may have been one of the unlucky ones after the recent renovations mentioned in earlier reviews. The bathroom was quite old, with the shower sides crumbling, and the paintwork was patchy. They left toiletries each day, but they were little soap bars and shampoo sachets, which let the service down a bit. The rooms are small. I'd recommend it as a basic budget hotel.

The rooftop deck has a nice view of the area, and the location makes it easy to walk to most of Rome's famous sights. It's also not too far from the subway. You can enter the building and your room with a code, so you don't need keys, which I liked. Our room was clean and comfortable, though fairly small and basic. The front desk was helpful with restaurant suggestions. Hotel Canova works well if you're after an inexpensive place without many extras.

The staff were very helpful, and the stay was nice. Clean and comfortable too. I'd definitely recommend it.

Even though my flights were changed at the last minute because of an air traffic control strike, and I didn't arrive until after check-in had closed, the staff were understanding and helpful. They'd sent all the details in advance, so checking in at 1 a.m. was easy. The room was spotless and had everything I needed, including extra towels, soap, shampoo, and a hairdryer. The staff were very friendly, the price was very good, and the location is excellent for getting around Rome. I'd stay here again if I return.
