The breakfast buffet, included with Diamond member benefits here, was lovely. Service throughout the stay was exceptional, and the staff made a real difference. Alessa at breakfast, Anna at the concierge desk, Diego at the carport/taxi area, and Giulia, Azad, and Claudia at the spa/pool were all professional, warm, and attentive. The price felt high for the experience, especially compared with other options. Rooms are somewhat dated, and the hotel is more than 20 minutes from the main attractions, as many reviews mention. We hoped the complimentary shuttle would make up for the distance, but its schedule didn't work for early tours or evening meals, so we used taxis for most of the stay. More frequent service and additional drop-off/pick-up locations would help. For early departures, the to-go breakfast could use portable options like pastries instead of only cookies. There isn't a traditional executive lounge. Lounge access is tied to certain room categories, which is clearly stated during booking. Given how popular the hotel is, I wouldn't book expecting a room upgrade. One unrelated tip: be cautious with the ATM near the lobby. The exchange and fee terms can be very unfavorable. In our case, a €150 withdrawal resulted in about $300 being charged.

We upgraded to a city-view room on the 7th floor, which came with access to the lounge on that floor. They put out high-end buffet food four times a day, and we always made it down for morning cappuccino, fresh breads, and other breakfast treats. From the hotel's spot on Rome's highest hill, the view is unmatched, stretching from the dome of St. Peter's past the coliseum. It was the most relaxed and luxurious stay of our whole tour.

The pools and spa, including the sauna, made this a great place to relax, and the views across Rome were stunning from the moment we arrived. Staff were wonderful throughout, especially Martina at reception, who made the stay unforgettable. We also loved the restaurants: La Pergola for fine dining and Uliveto for a more relaxed meal that was just as enjoyable. Our stay at the Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel was excellent. Being outside central Rome turned out to be a welcome break from the city's bustle. There’s a nearby neighborhood with restaurants, gelato, and a supermarket, and we could take the shuttle into the center or get a cab when we needed one. The indoor pool was lovely, and the kids had a great time there. We stayed for a little over a week, from 3/19 to 3/28, with our two young children and their grandmother. After flight trouble, we arrived a day early, but the hotel had a room available, which was a huge relief. Breakfast was included and convenient, and the staff were attentive and welcoming to all of us. We had a wonderful stay and would especially recommend it to families.
