Hotel Ciao

The place is charming, immaculately clean, and incredibly close to Roma Termini. It felt like a great, safe location, with easy access to stores, shops, and food. The staff were very accommodating, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here. We’d absolutely come back. The breakfast croissant from a local shop was a delicious touch too.

The people at the desk were the best part. They were kind and knew the area well, with good restaurant suggestions and tips for getting around. The location also makes trains, taxis, and the Metro easy to reach. The air conditioning was amazing, which mattered a lot when it was 90F after a day walking through Rome’s crowds. I’d stay here again if I came back to Rome.

For our 20th wedding anniversary, we came back from dinner to find a box of chocolates and a lovely note celebrating the occasion. The staff were very friendly, and when our bathroom developed a problem on the last day, they worked hard to fix it. When they couldn’t, which is understandable since they aren’t plumbers, they promptly moved us to another room for our final night. It’s a clean and comfortable place without bells and whistles. The reception espresso machine makes surprisingly good coffee, and they gave us free vouchers for breakfast at a couple of nearby cafés. It was just coffee and a croissant, which is basically what Italians have for breakfast every day. The gentleman at reception when we arrived was wonderful, though I’m sorry I can’t remember his name. We were right across the street from Roma Termini, which was very convenient. My only quibble was that the bed was a little short for me because I’m fairly tall, although it was comfortable. You can’t go wrong with this place.

We stayed here on our last night in Italy so getting to the airport would be simple, and it couldn’t have worked out better. We got up early, crossed the street to the train station, and took the Leonardo express train. The staff member at Hotel ciao was amazing, helped with our bags, and showed us everything we needed. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the place had everything we wanted. No frills, but perfect for us.
