Hotel Ferrarese Roma

We paid 73 euros per night in January 2026 for two people, breakfast included, plus 30 euros in city tax for three days. The location is handy for restaurants, shopping, the metro, and the train. Staff were friendly, and we could leave our suitcases there for free until departure. The room was warm and had a small fridge, a sturdy key safe included in the price, and new working sockets with USB-C. The rooms have been renovated and were clean, but the hallway doors are so thin and unsealed that we heard everything outside at night and were woken early. The bathroom was extremely cramped, not suitable for an adult man. The beds weren't very comfortable either: the mattress has springs, and the bed kept sliding around because it wasn't anchored firmly. Breakfast was very disappointing, with almost no choice, only cold food, and mass-produced croissants. I wouldn't consider it suitable for a longer stay.

The bathroom had a putrid fecal smell, so we had to keep its door shut and the fan running. The room was right by the reception desk, where we heard everyone coming and going. At night, guests had to ring a bell to get in or out, and the receptionist kept rolling his chair around. Breakfast preparation was just as disruptive: our room was beside the kitchen, and hours beforehand we could hear tables being set up and plates and cutlery clattering, with no consideration for guests. The whole experience was horrendous. I wouldn't recommend this hotel or stay here again.

Getting around was easy from this very central hotel. It's close to Termini Station and has good access to buses, metro, trams, and airport shuttles. Breakfast was a plus: very good croissants, jam, honey, packaged cake, orange juice, tea, coffee, cheese, and cold cuts. Plenty of hotels in Rome don't include it. The biggest problem was the hot water. On the second night there was none in the shower. Staff said heavy use was the cause and asked me to let it run for ten minutes. They later said they'd fix it, but I still had to shower cold that night. It worked again the next day. I'd also seen other guests say online that hot water is often unavailable at certain times in the evening. The shower cubicle was quite small with a narrow entrance, which may not work well for larger or heavier guests. All rooms are on the fourth floor, and though there are two elevators, one is for emergencies. The other was often busy at breakfast time, so I used the stairs down to the first floor. My room was far from the elevator, and the toilet and shower areas were raised. Elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues may want to request a room nearer the elevator that suits their needs. The location is brilliant. At night, though, the bed rocks you like you're on a ship in rough seas, and you might feel ready to fall into the sea, meaning the floor. Greek yogurt at breakfast could replace a dietician, or perhaps the prize-winning croissant will do if you make it through the night. The shampoos aren't for chic ladies.
