I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Hotel Geo in Rome. There was mold near the ventilation, the windows didn't work, and the room was generally not clean enough. Noise from staff and cleaning in the corridors started early and continued late, so getting rest was difficult. When we first entered the room, there were blood stains on the blanket. We tried to explain this to the staff, who didn't speak English, so we used a translator. The receptionist took the blanket and said she'd bring a replacement the next day, but it never came. The city tax caused another problem. I'd already paid it through Booking.com, but the hotel demanded that I pay again. For five nights, that meant almost 70 euros extra, despite the payment through the booking site. I have business trips planned in Rome, but I won't stay here again or recommend it. I regret booking this place. I gave it one star only because the site required a rating to post the review; it doesn't deserve even that.

A great base for catching the Metro into central Rome. The room was clean and simple, and the staff were friendly and gave us useful information.

Helpful staff and a clean hotel with all the basics. It's in Pigneto, a really nice, inexpensive area with good connections to the center, about 25 minutes from the Colosseum.

Roberto greeted us, but he was aggressive and rude right from the start. He treated my wife rudely too, which upset her a lot and put a damper on the evening. He needs to work on how he deals with people. I won't stay here again.

There was construction starting very early, and an auto repair shop below us, so sleep was basically impossible. People stayed out on the street right outside our room until 2am, and it takes an hour to walk into Rome. The beds were rock hard. There's no sign to ask for privacy, and when we left, they came into the room and turned off the air conditioning.
