Hotel Kriss

Getting around is convenient: the metro stop is right there, and lots of places are within walking distance. The bed was large despite the small room, which was a nice extra. I didn't feel particularly safe, though, and the free Wi-Fi barely worked except in certain parts of the hotel.

It was mostly clean, and we slept well, with the metro making the rest of the city accessible. Beyond that, don't expect much. The staff didn't speak English. We went almost 2 days without hot water, and one day there were no towels. Wi-Fi didn't work most of the time, the walls were so thin we could hear everything the neighbors did, and the old TV crackled and barely worked. Breakfast was mediocre, and while we were eating, the waitress would smash the plates she wanted to clear.

The staff were friendly, and the location worked well for a short stay. It's a 5min walk from proniclinico, which is 2 stations from Roma Termini. The room was big compared with similar-standard places in Europe, but it was poorly ventilated and felt moist and dank. Breakfast was acceptable, though probably not enough for an adult male. The Wi-Fi was extremely unstable.

The staff were great, but the rooms were very basic and could have done with fresh paint years ago. The air conditioning was ancient and couldn't keep the room warm. Breakfast was all sweet things, with no fresh fruit or vegetables.
