Hotel Lirico

The staff were lovely, helpful, and welcoming, and breakfast was very nice, though repetitive. The rooms are basic, but for a sightseeing trip you’ll probably spend most of your time wandering around Rome anyway. The location is hard to beat for that, with everything within a 25-minute walk from the front door.

The hotel was exceptionally clean, the staff were friendly, and the bathroom and shower were great. The rooms are small, as you’d expect in a capital city, and the traditional decor might seem dated. It’s in a great spot, with good restaurants right outside and easy access to Termini railway station and the metro. I can’t fault this lovely little hotel after our three-night stay.

Public transit is very close, and most of the sights we wanted to see were a 20-30 minute walk away, sometimes longer with heavy traffic and crowds. Our room was spacious and clean, with a large window that opened onto the Opera House square in good weather. The staff were courteous, spoke many languages, and were fluent in English.

The little restaurant next door is fantastic for dinner, but it fills up quickly, so go early. The hotel is an easy five-minute walk from the main Termimi train and bus station, and a great base within easy walking distance of everywhere. Our standard double was cozy but adequate, with a comfy bed and a good shower.
