Hotel Montecarlo

After two long days out seeing the sights, coming back to this lovely hotel gave us a chance to rest and get ready for the next day. The location is excellent, with all the major sights within a 20-minute walk. We were two families staying for two nights, and we all have only good things to say. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are quite large, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. Gabrielle and Franco, along with the rest of the staff, did everything they could to make us feel at home, and we’re very grateful. Thank you, Montecarlo, for making us feel welcome. We really hope to return to Rome and stay with you again!

We felt well looked after from check-in through checkout, and everything at Hotel Montecarlo Rome ran smoothly. The place was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff made a real difference: everyone was welcoming and professional, and happy to help with directions, suggestions, or questions. It’s close to attractions, restaurants, and public transport, while still feeling calm and comfortable after a full day of sightseeing. We had an excellent stay and would gladly return or recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.

Breakfast was one of the best parts, with plenty of choices and a coffee machine that made lots of different coffees and hot chocolate. The staff were especially friendly and accommodating. They let us check in a little early when the room was ready, and even offered coffee and pastries early on the morning we left. The room felt cramped and was quite small. We also found a sock from a previous guest under the bed, which made us question the overall cleanliness. The hotel is a bit away from the main tourist sights, though a metro station about three blocks away made getting around fairly easy.

We stayed in the family room, with a large double bed, a single for one daughter, and a rollaway for the other. The rollaway had a proper, comfortable mattress. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the central station, with good bus connections right on the street and the metro around five minutes away. An Uber home in the evening never cost us more than 15 euros. Mi Restaurante is just down the street, and we ate there several evenings. There’s an old-world feel to the hotel. The front desk always had at least two people working, housekeeping came daily, and breakfast was decent, though it got a bit crowded at times. You hand in your key card when you leave the building, which feels like a throwback. The main downside was that everything in the room switched off when we left, so we couldn’t charge anything during the day. We’ll definitely come back to Rome and stay here again.
