Hotel San Marco

I’d call it a decent 3.5. The room was clean, the front desk staff were helpful, and our stay came with a complimentary hot breakfast. There are good places to eat nearby and some attractions close by. It’s a seven-minute walk to two metro stations. Like many older European hotels, elevator availability is limited. And maybe it’s a European thing, but the pillows weren’t properly fluffy.

The good points were the location and clean bed linen. Otherwise, the rooms are very small, with no balcony and no proper wardrobe, just open shelves. The bathroom has no handheld shower, and poor ventilation left the room feeling stuffy. Breakfast wasn’t refilled regularly, so the options ran out quickly. The lift and stairs are in poor condition, and the toilet water pressure is weak.

The location is very good, close to Termi metro and bus stations, and Termi has a direct train from the airport. Breakfast was very nice and had a variety of options. The rooms are small but clean, though there’s no kettle or mini bar supplies in the room.

Avoid this hotel. When we arrived, the woman at reception was very rude and moved us to another hotel for the night without giving a reason. A man appeared around the corner and started pulling our suitcase. He didn’t say a word the whole way, and we had no idea where we were going. It was honestly frightening. The room we were sent to was tiny, and that hotel was only two stars. We returned to the hotel we’d booked the next day, but it was very loud inside and outside. There were lots of teenagers in the hotel and lobby, laughing and shouting late into the night. Every morning, we asked not to be disturbed before leaving, but staff still came in and moved our things. We didn’t feel safe there. If you’re sightseeing, I’d suggest a different area too, since everything is at least a 30-minute walk away.
