Hotel Stadler 2

We left the following morning after only a few hours at the property and cancelled our accommodation because the conditions felt unbearable. We asked the accommodation provider for a refund, but were refused. Booking.com is reviewing the case, and we hope they grant one. The access restriction was a major problem. A notice at the hotel said guests couldn't enter after 00:30, but this hadn't been mentioned during booking, in the policies, or in the important information. Enjoying Rome in the evening and returning late was one of the main reasons for our trip, so learning about this only after arriving badly affected our plans and made the booking useless. The bathroom had no outside window, a gap open to the bedroom, and a ventilation fan that didn't work. Odors and sounds after bathroom use spread into the room, raising hygiene and comfort concerns. The toilet didn't look properly clean, there was visible mold between the tiles and under the bathroom carpet, and there was significant limescale inside the bowl. The toilet paper also appeared to have been partly used before we arrived, which was a poor first impression. Water escaped from the shower area onto the whole bathroom floor after every shower because there was no proper barrier. No mop or cleaning equipment was provided, so the bathroom quickly became dirty with normal use and was uncomfortable for the rest of the stay. The accommodation didn't match the expectations set by the listing, and the lack of clear notice about the entry restriction was especially frustrating.
