The location made it easy to get to transport, sights, and nice places to explore, and the hotel itself was peaceful, well run, and great value. The whole team were warm, attentive, and very friendly, and looked after every detail. Hotel Tex is brilliant, with spacious rooms that are beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, fresh, and comfortable. We had a wonderful holiday here and would happily recommend it. Can't wait to return! 🌟🏨

At this price, the place may be decent in the off season if you're not choosy. When prices rise in peak season, I wouldn't recommend it, even if you're desperate. The hotel needs a total renovation, and I wouldn't recommend it even on a budget. It's near Roma Termini, which is a plus. The first receptionist was nice and check-in went smoothly, but the next day a different staff member was abrupt and unfriendly. We were only told then that we had to leave our keys every time we went out, and the way it was explained felt unpleasant. The location felt like a ghetto at night. The hallway was filthy and smelled funny, and the lift was ancient. Our room was basic and tidy with basic toiletries, and housekeeping did a good job tidying it. But the furniture was outdated and broken, the walls were stained, there was dust on the ceilings and curtain pelmet, and the paint was peeling. The bathroom tiles needed scrubbing, the towels smelled odd, and the bed was basic, hard, and firm. The air-conditioning only blew hot air, so we had to open the windows to get air circulating. We even found a wood louse, though they're harmless. There was so much dust that it wasn't good for people with asthma. I have allergic rhinitis and had medication with me, but it still bothered me on a few nights. Breakfast was basic but alright, and the woman working in the breakfast room was very nice. That room had a dusty curtain pelmet too. I did wonder about the kitchen, given how filthy the hotel was. The ironing board was chained to the wall in the first-floor hallway near the breakfast room, so you have to iron while other guests walk past.

I stayed at Hotel Tex in Rome for three nights, from September 11th to September 14th, 2025, in room number 105. The experience was disappointing and the hotel felt overpriced for its services and cleanliness. The room was much smaller than the online photos suggested, and there was hardly any service. Wi-Fi didn't reach the room, and water leaking in the hotel added to the discomfort. The front desk staff weren't helpful and struggled to communicate in English, making it hard to raise concerns. Breakfast was average, though I appreciated that an Arabic-speaking staff member advised me about avoiding some dishes that contained pork fat. The mini-fridge didn't work from the first night. I told the staff, but it wasn't fixed until the day we left. I do not recommend Hotel Tex, it wasn't worth the cost.

A cheap and cheerful place, ideal for a night when you're passing through Rome. It's close to major transport hubs and the bus and train to the airport. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable, and breakfast is a nice bonus.

The room and breakfast were both disappointing. The sheets weren't changed even after we specifically asked, the walls had peeling paint and cracks, and everything was very dusty. The bed was supposed to have one large mattress, but they put two together, and they kept shifting apart into a gap in the middle, making it very uncomfortable. Breakfast wasn't worth it, with stale pastries that were hard to bite and chew, hardly any choice, eggs that seemed off, and a breakfast room attendant who put back food people had taken to their table but didn't eat. She was rude when asked about the coffee machine. The rooms were dirty, and the hotel isn't worth the price. The area smells bad and felt really unsafe after dark, with gangs and people waiting to rob you. We saw a glass bottle fight just as we were about to leave to see monuments. When we first checked in, the man was rude. My mother only wanted to confirm where she was permitted to smoke, but he said, “just don’t smoke it’s bad for ur health.” It wasn't his business whether she smoked, and she only wanted to know the permitted areas. I would 100% advise against staying here, especially for women or anyone with children. Find somewhere in a safer area.
