The stairs up to reception are the first thing to know about. Staff are usually there to help, but they could be a challenge for someone with limited mobility. Our junior suite had extra space and was decent value, though the layout was a bit strange and we’d expected more. The free pastries and coffee in the lounge were a nice feature, along with the smoking patio and the well-designed mirror lounge. Staff were amazing: when the soup dispenser stopped working, they replaced it within minutes. They also helped with an extra room key, and a maintenance guy even gave me his lighter. Simona is a real gem, at reception most of the day, smiling, chatting, and ready to help with anything. You can see she loves her work.

The hotel cancelled my daughter’s room booking, and I’m hugely disappointed with how it was handled. She’d booked through Booking.com, but the hotel wanted payment up front, which isn’t normal. She tried contacting them to pay and got no response. She was coming to Rome to meet my wife and me for our 25th wedding anniversary. Thankfully, she found another hotel. I’ve since seen reviews suggesting this is a familiar complaint. The service and attitude were appalling.

The staff were so friendly and always ready to lend a hand, and the morning coffee and croissants were a lovely touch. This is a quaint hotel in a great spot for the tourist attractions. It works well whether you’re there to relax, see the sights, or just have fun. I can’t recommend it enough.

The service didn’t match the price or what I expected as a guest. We asked for a different room right away because of the problems, but our request was ignored and no other solution was offered. There were insects in the room, which is completely inappropriate for a hotel, and a strong unpleasant smell throughout. The room itself was extremely small and uncomfortable, and narrow areas and a lack of basic services made it difficult to get around. The stay fell far below the standard advertised.
