The pizza at the restaurant was good. The room had a kitchen and bathroom and everything we needed, though it was a bit dusty. Check-in took over an hour, and getting to the city center takes some effort: it’s quite far, so you need a bus and metro or their shuttle for €5.

The staff were kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout, and breakfast was a good start to the day. Our clean, comfortable cabin was in a great area, with a nearby bus stop that made getting to the city center easy. The connection from Fiumicino Airport was quick and convenient too. It was a very good stay, and I’d gladly come back.

The shuttle service was a real plus: it’s excellent and free if you book directly, and the drivers were attentive and welcoming. There’s a handy onsite market, a larger supermarket across the road, a McDonald's, and a train station nearby. The onsite restaurant was pleasant and well staffed, and parking beside your residence is free. The location is out of town, but the convenience and flexibility, along with the value and staff, make Hu Roma somewhere I’d recommend and return to. There are plenty of Rome options if you want more luxury, though. Our first cabin was a shock. The initial "stay easy XL" had holes in the sheets and walls, mould in the bathroom, missing skirting board, and extensive wear. It felt old and unpleasant, and the pervasive smell of Canabis was especially unacceptable to us. Some of these cabins may be best avoided. The glossy website photos also set expectations that didn’t match the well-used cabins, and could be around ten years old. Once we raised the issue, Hu and the team responded promptly and professionally, moving us to a much more acceptable cabin that better matched what we’d hoped for. The replacement was pleasant and, for the price, worth recommending. The staff who sorted out the problem were superb, as were the shuttle organizers. So, despite that poor start, our stay was fair, functional, and useful. I’d come back and recommend it in certain circumstances, which is why I’m giving four stars.

The units are clean and look nice, but the thin walls let you hear everything from outside and next door. On both nights, children were screaming and shrieking past 1 a.m., and quiet hours weren’t enforced. Reception either wasn’t there or didn’t answer the phone, so there was no way to ask for help or complain. For the price, the rest wasn’t worth it either. I’d skip the included breakfast, which is barely a breakfast, and save the money for the extra pastries and other items you can buy.
