I judge a stay by whether I feel comfortable and by the people I meet. Traveling alone, I arrived in ROME without a reservation because my original booking hadn’t worked out. Franco greeted me so graciously, and my experience with him was wonderful. The accommodation was very clean, and he brought breakfast every morning. A great place to stay.

A good option if, like us, you’re mainly looking for somewhere to sleep between visits to the monuments. We stayed in a three-room flat, with a private room and shared bathroom. You don’t get access to the kitchen, but breakfast is provided every morning. The rooms were clean and cleaned daily. Great location, good price, and breakfast.

Three days before our trip, they emailed to say the hotel was overbooked and our reservation was cancelled. We’d booked three months earlier and had paid after they contacted us, saying we needed to transfer the money right away or lose the booking. We felt uneasy, but it seemed legitimate at the time. Six weeks later, we still haven’t received a refund, and the hotel won’t answer our emails. Avoid this place.

Sapienza students, be careful. The current B&B owner is NARESHBABU SELVARAJU. He offers students part-time jobs, but according to my experience, he never pays the salary.
