Kiss And Room

Rest was impossible with all the constant yelling and noise, and the place was really filthy. The floors looked like they hadn't been washed in ages, and the bathroom was like one at a gas station. The hot tub was the worst part. It should have been the main attraction, but we couldn't use it. When we tried, a horrible sewer smell spread through the room, and pubic hair and other dirt from previous guests came up into the tub. They call it a bed and breakfast, but breakfast isn't included.

The one positive is that you're in Rome. The hot tub was unusable because it pushed dirt out, as the photos show, and cleanliness was poor. The owner knew I was coming but didn't turn up. He said he'd misunderstood the reservation name and blamed me. He sent a colleague instead, and she didn't even apologize when she arrived. The tub's counter was cracked and had been patched rather than repaired. For what it costs, even one star feels generous. It wasn't worth half a star. What should have been a romantic weekend felt like a nightmare. I don't recommend it.

We booked the "Suite." The owner was friendly and helpful right away, and left two free bottles of water in the room's mini-fridge. We also got two pods for the coffee machine in the shared kitchen. The room had lovely, romantic lighting, and the location near Tiburtina station was convenient. There were plenty of towels in large, medium, and small sizes, plus a hairdryer in the bathroom. Wi-Fi worked. There were some real drawbacks. The rooms are in an apartment inside a shared condominium, with no reception. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the pillows were much too high, and I woke with a sore neck after hardly sleeping. We could hear other people's conversations clearly because the rooms aren't soundproofed. Only the side jets worked in the whirlpool, and it was so hot I had to sleep in my underwear. We were told over the phone that we'd get breakfast coupons for the bar, but none were given to us when we arrived. The tub can only be used until midnight, though that was mentioned only on a notice in the room. There wasn't a full-length mirror either.

The rooms are beautiful and elegant, chic without going overboard. After a hard day working at the film studios, the in-room hot tub and sauna were the best. You can get coffee, drinks, and food in your room, and use the kitchen whenever you like. The place and staff feel so welcoming. Pasquale is a wonderful person, attentive and always ready to meet his guests’ needs. Carla does an amazing job keeping everything clean and tidy, and they’re both incredibly friendly.
