I was hesitant to book after seeing the negative reviews, but after a few days here I was honestly and pleasantly surprised by how good the place was. The breakfast may not be the best, but there’s at least something to start the day. I stayed in a shared room with two other people, each of us in our own bed, and we shared a bathroom. The hot shower was great after a long day of walking, and the AC kept the room cool for a good night’s sleep. I also met a couple of nice travelers. The place is fairly close to the metro, though there aren’t many options nearby, so it’s best to find a supermarket before taking the metro back. I’d definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Rome.

The owner didn’t answer our calls, and when we arrived, the breakfast area was terrible. He handed us the keys and said we’d be sharing a room with someone else, even though we had reserved a room for just two people. He then said a third stranger would stay with us. We decided not to stay and asked for a refund, even half the amount we paid or at least some money back. He refused and didn’t give me a penny. This is the most ridiculous place I’ve ever been. DON’T GO THERE!

The location was the best part, with the Colosseum about a 20-minute walk away and plenty of public transport and places to eat nearby. Breakfast was good, and my things were still where I left them throughout the three nights, so everything went smoothly overall. There were a few issues with the room. The window was cracked, though no air seemed to get through, so maybe it had been repaired somehow. The shower head came off when I first turned on the water, but I still managed my daily showers by using it like a hose. The bedroom door lock looked pretty rough and made me wonder if my things would still be there when I got back.
