Les Artes

The room had air conditioning and a great shower, and both were done well. Since Les Artes is a one-star hotel, I knew I was paying for the basics and wasn't expecting extras like a pool, gym, balcony, or a personal masseuse. I’d actually booked another place first, then switched because Les Artes offered early check-in. That mattered with our plans, and the owner messaged me on WhatsApp before the agreed time to say the room was already ready. After an early flight, knowing we could get in smoothly was such a relief.

We booked through Booking.com and had great, helpful communication with the host. The room was cozy, with its own bathroom, and the location worked perfectly for us: close to Roma Termini but surprisingly quiet. I’d stay here again on another trip.

The room was comfortable and had air conditioning, a hairdryer, a basic bed and bathroom, and very high ceilings. Towels and bathroom supplies were replaced every day. There’s also a shared kitchen with a small fridge, coffee machine, and plates, and getting in was easy without having to meet the owner. It’s handy for public transport, the metro, the railway station, and some key sights. I did find dust on the floor and in the wardrobe when I checked in, and the walls looked dirty. The shower and toilet were a bit clogged and needed cleaning. The area wasn’t very pleasant either, with lots of homeless people spending the night at the station.

Just five minutes from the main railway station, and we got a comfortable room with a private bathroom for what we’d pay for a cheap hostel outside town. The owner was great and let us in. From the start, it felt like a really good choice for an inexpensive night in the center.
