Letto & Latte Roma

This was the worst place I stayed during a month and a half of travel through Italy. I rarely leave reviews, but there weren’t many negative ones to warn other travelers. I’ve stayed in hostels with cleaner, nicer conditions. The location is walkable to the Colosseum and ruins, about 30 minutes away, but I didn’t like the area and would prefer a different neighborhood. In my opinion, Trastevere near the Vatican is much nicer. The room is in a shared suite with other rooms, and although each room locks, you can hear noise from the others. The person who cleaned also stayed in the suite, and I didn’t get the sense he had professional cleaning experience. The bathroom wasn’t very clean, and the shower door kept coming loose from its frame. In summer, when you need AC, I’d especially avoid it. I’m pretty sure the filters had never been cleaned, and the room always smelled faintly of mold. I also got very sick during my stay, which disrupted my travels, but recovered almost immediately after leaving. Getting instructions for arrival and keys was unclear, and depended on how quickly the person living in and cleaning the suites responded. It might be okay as a budget option for one or two nights, but I wouldn’t stay longer because of the sanitation. If cleanliness matters to you, I’d avoid it.
