Piazza di Spagna put us right in the heart of Rome, with an unbeatable location. We had a wonderful stay in the apartment. The room was beautifully designed, clean and comfortable, and the view was lovely. Everything was perfect, and we’d definitely come back.

The staff made a strong impression: they were professional and courteous, greeted us warmly, and took care of requests promptly. The rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean, with every corner carefully maintained. The hotel is also in a lively area, close to all kinds of services and amenities, which makes its location a real standout.

The decor was nice, but the room wasn’t ready at the 3 pm check-in time, even though I’d stressed that we needed to use it promptly. We had to wait and weren’t offered any compensation. Once inside, noise and light came through badly, and it was so noisy and bright at night that sleeping was really difficult. An unpleasant stay, and I wouldn’t return.

We ended up choosing Spagna Luxury apartments after Victor at the front desk showed us three properties. We’d originally planned to book at Hotel Condotti, which has several properties around the Spanish Steps, and the apartments are only a two-minute walk from it. The price was more than we wanted to pay, but booking directly got us a good deal. Our room was large, with a view over the square at the Spanish Steps. The bathroom felt new and clean, and the towels and supplies were luxurious. There was a well-stocked coffee and breakfast room with a pleasant dining area on our floor, plus a little balcony we could lean out over the square. The elevator goes up to the third floor. The rooms felt luxurious, the location was superb, and breakfast was handy. The hotel also arranged a Mercedes sedan to the airport for about the same price as a taxi.

Frederique was a great host, welcoming and helpful, and everyone else we spoke with was friendly too. Reception is staffed around the clock, so we had no concerns about security or access. We found the room comfortable and finished to a high standard, with a large king bed, two waterfall showers and roomy his-and-hers wardrobes. There was a mini fridge with space for our drinks alongside the usual reasonably priced offerings, good WiFi, plenty of power sockets and large smart TVs where you can sign into Netflix or Amazon. The Spanish Steps are just a stone’s throw away, and the metro is 100M away. High-end shops including Tiffany, Gucci, Versace and Audemars Piguet are one street over, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. La Buvette was a good-value dinner, Venchi for gelato, Pompi for Tiramisu, and IL SALUMAIO for amazing Panini, all less than a minute’s walk. Major sights are under a 20-minute walk away. Vatican City is a bit farther, but the metro costs only €1.50. The location is hard to beat, and the price was very reasonable. I’d happily recommend Spagna Luxury rooms as a comfortable, relaxed base for exploring Rome.
