The only thing I can give this place credit for is being about a ten minute walk from Roma Termini. I’d give zero stars if I could. I’ve never felt moved to review a place before, good or bad, but this stay did it. We arrived to find a coded door with no way in and a phone number on a piece of paper taped to it. The woman on the phone spoke English that wasn’t much help. Once we got the building code, she gave us another one to reach the upstairs hallway. She also said not to use the elevator because it breaks. Our rooms were standing open, with the keys left on the beds. There was no desk, reception, or employee around, so I asked how to check in properly. The woman wasn’t there and told us to email our passport details. Later I called about the WiFi not working. She insisted it should work, while I was telling her it didn’t. That conversation went in circles and was a nightmare. Breakfast was just cookies, flake cereal, and a few liters of milk in the kitchen fridge. No fruit, bread, eggs, or the usual buffet things. We took some milk to our rooms because we felt we’d earned it. The walls are paper thin. We heard a couple across the hall yelling at the room service man, a very nice Filipino guy who also barely spoke English. If she takes international guests, the owner or her staff need to be able to communicate. The mystery owner should have shown up to handle the argument, not left it to housekeeping. After showers the bathrooms were incredibly stuffy, and there’s no view from the windows. I called to ask about transport to the airport. The mystery woman said yes and arranged for a taxi at the front at 8 a.m. We were there at 7:55 and already had a bad feeling when no driver showed up. At 8:15 we flagged down one of the several taxis passing by. This stay was a major failure on the owner’s part. I won’t come back or recommend it. Awful, awful, awful. Steer clear!

A lovely old-fashioned house and a very good place to stay. The bathroom was big and beautiful, and there was air conditioning and a TV.

Had a great stay here. I’d absolutely recommend the place!
