The owner was incredibly accommodating, and the place felt like home: especially clean, with a little lobby where I could work on my laptop. The location put us right among food spots, and there was a city view from the window. I loved it. The Wi-Fi barely reached my room, so I had to work from the lobby. Air conditioning also seemed to depend on Rome's rules. Unless they allowed it, it wouldn't blow cold air, and I had to sleep with the window wide open. This was at the end of April.

We really enjoyed our five days in Rome. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and the host was helpful and had a sense of humor. The location was a big plus, close to the Vatican and a metro station, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. There was also delicious gelato right across the street.

The host made our stay so much easier. He patiently helped us figure out how to get from the airport, kept giving us useful help right through the end, and had a dry sense of humor. He was an amazing person. Maison Candia Luxury House felt like a mix of hotel and Airbnb. I think there were only four rooms, but ours was spacious and the bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was simple, though plenty to get us ready for a long day walking around Rome. The Vatican is very close, which is a big advantage for at least one day of sightseeing, and there are lots of good restaurants nearby.

The service was 11/10. My partner left her phone in an Airport Taxi, and they called every number they could until they tracked down the driver. They also handled her jet-lagged sleepwalking with good humor 😂. They know Roma well and gave helpful suggestions that made exploring easier for first-time visitors. The place is small and intimate, in a great spot for couples. There are excellent nearby restaurants and Cafe's that don't feel like tourist traps, plus an easy walk to the Vatican or across the Tiber.

Joseph was a great guy, very helpful, and we really enjoyed staying here. The location is superb for a visit to the Vatican, and the room was nice for the price and pretty clean. Breakfast was great the one day we had it. The check-in instructions weren't clear, though we got it sorted after calling. The shower curtain could use replacing. Aside from those two small issues, it was a great stay.
