After weeks of waiting and sending follow-up emails, we still haven’t heard anything from Maison Dali guest house about getting our money back. We booked through Booking.com for October 2 to October 9, and there were warning signs from the start, but we went ahead and paid. The owner wanted the money sent directly to his bank account instead of through Booking.com. In September I checked with the landlord to make sure the stay was still confirmed, given everything happening this year. Booking.com then told us the landlord had said they couldn’t host us. We found another place and that stay went fine, but Maison Dali never contacted us about the cancellation or made any apparent effort to sort things out. I’m pretty sure I won’t get the full payment back. Be very cautious about booking here.

For the price, it worked well as a place to sleep, and the sights are walkable with the metro nearby. The neighborhood felt safe and was mostly tourists. We were put in a different apartment about 500 meters away at Via Principe Amadeo 149, closer to Termini station. Our room was on the fourth floor of building number 8 and had its own bathroom. There was a fridge in the room and a safe in the hallway. A few things were inconvenient: with four of us, there were only two glasses and two teaspoons, the shower water wasn’t very hot, and there was a big mold stain above the shower. There’s no kitchen access, so making breakfast isn’t an option. Still, despite those minor issues, I’d recommend it.

I paid for an October stay this year and sent the property several messages asking whether I could come, but the host never answered. Booking.com only told me at the last minute that the apartment wouldn’t be made available. I filed a complaint and Booking.com gave me a full refund. There’s no contact with the host and they don’t reply to questions. I wouldn’t recommend it. Check the latest reviews and don’t take the risk.
