Maison Flaminio

There are some lovely casual restaurants and pubs within walking distance, all authentic and non-touristy. The room was modern, spacious, and immaculately clean. I booked online with little information, relying on the good reviews, then Simona emailed the day before to ask when I'd arrive and offered to arrange an airport car. She met me, gave me a friendly orientation, answered a couple of questions within minutes, and booked my taxi to the airport. It was an ideal stay at a charming small business.

The breakfast buffet is self-service and available any time of day, with a varied spread: yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, pastries, savory options in the fridge, plus milk, juices, tea, and coffee. Shame the coffee comes in capsules. We had a very pleasant stay that exceeded expectations. The room was smart, quiet, and extra clean, with a comfortable bed, and the staff were nice and helpful. The MAXXI museum neighborhood is pleasant, with the city center easy to reach by reliable tram and metro. There's also a good trattoria-pizzeria a short walk away.

They even let us keep the room for many hours after checkout, which was a very nice gesture. In the Flaminio neighborhood, this B&B had spacious, clean rooms and very comfortable beds. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is served all day, which is handy, though a few more choices like eggs would improve it. They only had pork deli meat in the fridge, but when we asked for turkey, they provided it the next day. I definitely recommend it.

I'm now in Rome without anywhere to sleep, so thanks a lot. The booking service was terrible and confusing: they sent an email that looked completely like a reservation, but never replied to say they were actually fully booked.
