Marcella Royal Hotel - Rooftop Garden

All the staff were smartly dressed, polite, and charming, and the service was friendly. The bar was lovely, too. We enjoyed sitting on the small balcony in a shaded corner, which was a bit cooler than the rooftop, where we could sit in the sunshine. Both spots had lovely views over the city, with tranquil lighting. The hotel was excellent, clean, and in a very nice location. Our bed was large and comfortable.

The rooftop bar and restaurant were great, and the evening food was amazing. Our superior room had a balcony. The hotel and rooms were lovely, and breakfast was very good. The staff were always helpful and friendly, ready to assist with whatever we needed. It's a little walk to get to things, but that also made it quiet and relaxing. The Trevi Fountain was roughly 20 minutes away.

There was no tea or coffee in the room, but reception will provide it if you ask. The food in the restaurant was great, and breakfast had plenty of choices. The hotel was really lovely, with excellent staff who were so friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend it. Top marks.

The reception team really stood out. We met five or six people at the desk, and every one of them was helpful, pleasant, and great at their job. We were in room 516 last week, and housekeeping kept it neat throughout. It was roomy, with an extra-large bed, and breakfast had plenty of continental options, especially excellent pastries and coffee. I liked the location since we prefer walking around rather than taking transport. The Colosseum was roughly a 25-30 minute walk one way, and Vatican City about 50 minutes in another direction. Those are only estimates, though. There’s so much history in beautiful Rome that we kept stopping to look along the way. I’m sure public transport is good too. We’d definitely recommend the hotel.
