New Design St. Peter

The room was quaint, very tidy, and cleaned daily. We had a very nice stay at this well-appointed hotel in a fantastic location. We recommend New Design to anyone visiting Rome, especially if you want to be close to the Vatican.

Our room felt a bit hot and stuffy for sleeping. On the second night we left the window open, which helped some, and I think it would be more comfortable in the cooler months. The place is very affordable for the location, close to the Vatican, a bus stop, and a metro station. Before we arrived, the owner sent clear instructions for entering the building, which I appreciated. There were several codes to get through the different doors, so it felt very secure. The owner also shared some recommendations, and we tried one of them, Magazzino Scipioni, which we enjoyed. There was scaffolding right outside our window because work was being done on the building, but nobody was working while we were there, so it didn’t bother us.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and there was a nice shared area. We found the hostesses extremely friendly. It’s an excellent boutique hotel in a great location.

Valeria and Stefania, the sister duo, went out of their way to make our stay really enjoyable and were incredibly helpful. The place is immaculate, in a quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance of the Vatican and close to a Metro station for reaching Rome’s other sights. There are lots of great restaurants just a few blocks away. This place felt like a hidden gem in Rome, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Roma.
