Gh Trevi Fountain

It's an easy walk to several of Rome's sights, and the room was nice and recently updated. Finding the front door was confusing when we first arrived.

The place is on the ground floor, so you don't have to haul suitcases up flights of stairs. There's a minimart right next door, and parking is about 400-500m away, roughly a 5-10 minute walk. You can hear other guests coming through the shared entrance, but it wasn't too bothersome. The room had recently been updated and worked fine for resting, eating groceries, and getting cleaned up. A national art gallery is across the street, with works that trace changes in art from the 1200s to around the 1800s. If you're new to art and take time to read the descriptions, there's something to get out of it. But I digress. The area feels cleaner, and historic sights are close by, with walks of about 15-25 minutes to Trevi, the Steps, Santa Maria Maggiore, the Colosseum, and more. There are so many historic sites around here.

The bed and pillows were good, and the man serving us was nice. Since we were the only guests, the service was enough. His English was worse than mine, and my Italian was nonexistent, but he kindly let us leave our bags at the house for a few hours before heading to the airport. Breakfast was cheese, croissants, and coffee. We booked the double superior last month. It was quite large but nothing special, and it was cold because the climate control wasn't working. The bathroom floor had mold. The location is good, though the uphill walks may be a challenge after a full day exploring Rome. They're not especially difficult, but if you hate hills, this might not be the place for you.

Mario was professional and very helpful with getting around and making recommendations. The room was simple, smart, and clean, just what we wanted, and breakfast had a nice continental selection. We had a lovely stay at Trevi Fountain. The location is amazing, with the major sights within walking distance. The Vatican takes about 20 minutes door to door by metro. The train and bus station is a 15-minute walk away. The door can be a little confusing to find, but otherwise it's a wonderful place to stay in Rome.
