The stay was good overall, and that coffee machine with capsules helped make up for some annoying quirks. The location is handy, with a shop on the corner, close to the metro and train and bus station, and about a 20-30 minute walk to the main sights. The Vatican is a metro ride away. There are two spacious double bedrooms, while the living, dining, and hallway areas share one fairly small space. The kitchen is basic and small but has what you need. WiFi was good, and the welcome pack was helpful. Bring the right plug adapter: there’s one Type F socket in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, with Type L everywhere else. I always bring an extension lead with extra USB sockets. The old building has no sound insulation, though it’s off the main tourist routes and streets. My visit was in chilly mid-February, and there was a draft from the windows. There’s no heating, and I doubt much heat would stay inside anyway. The door can also be confusing: it only opens with the big key. Pull the door while turning the key for the final turn, then push while the key is still turned. There’s a security keypad, a fake keyhole, and another lock with a small key, but those are all redundant.
