The room was decent for an old building, and we were given a traditional key. Everything worked fine. There may have been dampness on the wall, but it didn't really bother us. Getting in was another story. We got no instructions, so at 2 pm we stood outside ringing the bell over and over with no answer. Thankfully we had their numbers. The check-in directions still weren't clear, and after long pauses they hung up on us, so we ended up calling several times.

The rooms are decent and the location is good, but there isn't any staff on site. When you arrive tired, expect to wait outside for at least 10 minutes, possibly longer, for the “manager” (Fabio) to let you in. That assumes you have his number and a working phone that can make calls. He disappears after check-in too, so there's nobody there to help with anything. For the check-in experience alone, I do NOT recommend it.

Room 2 was especially noisy. You could hear every step other guests took, and being beside the kitchen meant noise starting before 6:00 AM. The room wasn't soundproof at all. The bathroom was awful, with a strong sewage smell and a shower that was filthy and broken. You have to hold it while showering. The walls were dirty and damaged, and the check-in instructions were unclear because communication was poor, which made arriving stressful. The location is the only good thing about the place. The stay was a major disappointment, and I wouldn't recommend it.

I booked through Booking.com for the location and price, then arrived at 10:30 AM to ask if I could leave my backpack before the room was ready. Nobody picked up the intercom or phone. I walked around and called several times to find out when check-in was possible, but couldn't get through. By 4:00 PM, after countless unanswered calls and still no way to get into the room or check in, I asked Booking.com to find me somewhere else. I should have read the reviews first, since they make it clear how poor the customer service is. I'd avoid this place.

We ended up cancelling through Booking.com and finding somewhere else to stay. After lunch, we still couldn't check in: nobody answered us or opened the door, and there'd been no message with specific instructions. We kept trying without getting a response. Earlier, we'd arrived at 10:30 to leave our luggage, since storage was listed as available, and check in later. The intercom and contact number went unanswered, so we had to leave with our bags and all the hassle that involved. We had a reservation confirmed some time ago. What a disgrace.
