Hostel Ostello Bello Roma

You can walk to many of the major sights from this incredible location. The private room felt like a hotel room, and even though there was music in the downstairs common area, I couldn't hear it two floors up. The hostel seems well soundproofed at night. The staff were very friendly and quick to help, including with city recommendations. Breakfast had plenty of options and was really good. I'd happily return on my next trip and would recommend the place.

I had a lovely couple of nights here and was a bit sad to move on. Ella, the manager, and the rest of the staff were so sweet. The beds were ridiculously comfortable, and it was quiet enough to sleep well. My room was clean, with a large, bright bathroom. There's a beautiful courtyard out back, though it was a little rainy while I was there. The location is great, close to lots of things but tucked away from the Colosseo tourist crowds.

The room was clean and spacious, and the location was great. Most of the staff were polite, but the manager didn't seem attentive. I was put in the top bunk of a triple bunk bed and asked to move, but she said it couldn't be done, even though the second bed stayed empty my whole visit. The hostel also charged extra for nearly everything. I paid almost 7 euros to store my luggage, on top of a towel fee. That felt excessive given the daily rate, especially for a hostel. I wouldn't stay there again.

I feel lucky I found Bello Ostello Roma during a packed Jubilee and busy tourist season in Rome, in late September '25. I was a little nervous about not getting a private room, since only a three-person women's dorm was available, but it turned out wonderfully. My roommates were friendly and helpful. Meeting interesting people, both staff and travelers, is one of my favorite things about hostels. The free 24/7 services were a treat: coffee, filtered water, someone at the front desk, wifi, and a bike. I happily rode it all over the ancient city after finding a bike shop to pump up the tires. Any biker worth their salt knows that's their own responsibility. It gave my legs and feet a break after the first day of walking. The old streets and cobblestones are hard on your body, but it's hard to complain when you're surrounded by more than 2,000 years of history. The staff had great energy and helped with everything. I loved the roof patio for early morning yoga, and sipping free coffee, tea, and water while chatting with fun travelers. The clean rooms, good shower, working AC, lockers, and thoughtful touches like bedside chargers and reading lamps covered most of my needs. The place is charming, with cute, artsy details that reflect the city's history. I wish smoking were limited to outside the front of the building. It stinks up the environment, and if I were Emperor, I'd ban it from the planet. :)) The hostel is about 15 minutes from Termini Station and a 30-minute walk to the ancient center. I'd highly recommend it, especially to younger travelers who want to feel safe. They also run activities for solo travelers looking to meet people.
