We found this place on Booking.com, where it said payment was due on arrival. But two months after booking, they began repeatedly asking us to pay in advance. We refused and complained to Booking.com, who agreed with us. The property said okay, but 15 days before our trip we got a message from Booking.com saying the place would be closed on our dates, at the end of June near the Vatican, and suggesting a more expensive place farther away. Imagine what might have happened to the thousand-plus euros for our vacation if we had paid them. The same day they canceled us, I checked Booking.com and found several new “luxury” apartments listed that hadn’t been there before. There are a million places to stay in Rome. Don’t risk it with these crooks!

Our Airbnb booking turned into a real nightmare, and we arrived here by chance. Mr. Teodore was incredibly kind and did his best to make us comfortable after that awful experience. We’re grateful from the bottom of our hearts for his kindness and hospitality, and we’ll be back soon!
