Overseas BB

The terminal-side location was very convenient, with easy access to almost anywhere, including the airport. The rooms weren't bad and were reasonably clean, and the staff were friendly. But they admitted they'd forgotten to change the sheets on at least one bed while I was trying to work out which bed was mine. In the four-person dorm, one bed is a double, so you might have to share it with someone, and there's nowhere to lock up your belongings. I was there alone, a 25-year-old man, and felt very unsafe in the area. People were hanging around outside the building entrances, and the surroundings just felt unsafe, though nobody actually gave me trouble. I woke up in the middle of the night to someone outside yelling for help, which made me feel even less comfortable. I wouldn't recommend staying here, especially alone.

The owner was very nice, but the other staff were lovely, and you'll be charged the municipal tax on top of the room price. The owner adds this fee, which isn't always included in the advertised price. The only good thing was being close to the train station. The neighborhood itself is dirty, poor, and unattractive, and the building was disgusting. We couldn't find a phone number to call, and after arriving we were left waiting about three hours at the door, in a narrow corridor with our luggage and kids. Locally, the place is called mandarin overseas bnb, and it's cheap for a reason. Our room was in a different building and was okay, old but not especially nasty. The shared shower, though, smelled awful, with mold and a sewer stench the whole time. If saving money is all you care about, fine. If you value yourself, avoid it as much as possible.

The room looked nice and the staff were kind, and the hostel seemed clean. But I booked online and decided not to stay because of the location. I was alone, and didn't feel safe walking along the hostel's street after dark, even though I'm from a country where walking at night isn't really safe either. I didn't want to take the chance.

Being right next to Termini train station is the only good part. Everything else felt more like a brothel. When you meet the hostess, she speaks only Chinese. There were no towels, shampoo, air conditioning, or TV. The neighborhood looked a bit unsafe, with junkies, dealers, and shady people around, though they didn't seem violent or aggressive. There's a police station right around the corner from Termini.
