Ivan at reception was outstanding, warm, professional, and always ready to help. He made us feel welcome right away, offered great recommendations, helped with reservations, and was there whenever we needed anything. The rooms were comfortable, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully prepared. The hotel is well located for the main sights and the metro. We'd happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.
I was happy with our five days here with my wife, especially because of the excellent location and lovely staff. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and smiling. The person in charge of breakfast was kind, professional, and very stylish. The hotel was very clean, the rooms looked beautiful and well designed, daily room service was good, and the breakfast terrace was lovely. Breakfast was the one thing that disappointed me. I expected more variety, particularly because the description called it “very good.” Eggs were the main thing missing, and they're such a basic, common breakfast food. A more varied selection would be nice.
The people at Barberini Retreat Hotel made us feel like family, with a kind of hospitality that's hard to put into words. Ivan, Pamela, and Letizia created the warmth and calm you want while traveling. Pamela greeted us each morning with a smile and a sweet “Buongiorno.” Ivan, our favorite kindhearted Italian guy, helped with everything and made our time in Rome more fun. Letizia was caring and wonderfully organized from the time before we even arrived. They were always there for us, and we loved the staff so much that we wish there were a hotel like this in every city. Our room was modern, beautiful, spotless, and carefully maintained. It had hot water around the clock, daily cleaning, and a comfortable bed and pillows. The hotel is next to a metro station, with easy connections to farther parts of town, and the main attractions are also within walking distance. The neighborhood was quiet and felt completely safe, with lots of nearby places for food, drinks, and dessert. The stay exceeded our expectations. The price even included a few interesting free activities, like a tiramisu class day. Barberini Retreat Hotel is a real gem, and a must-stay. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart!
The staff were amazing, hands down. But the Junior Suite had several drawbacks. The website should say that it doesn't have a bidet. We had to ask for the private patio to be cleaned because it was covered in bird poop, and half the items shown in the picture, including the umbrella and decor, weren't there. The suite is right by the breakfast room, so we heard staff preparing breakfast from 6 am until noon every day. The rooms one tier below seemed to have a better layout and included what the website said they'd have. The patio itself was nice, but I'm not sure it was worth the extra cost with all the other annoyances. The hotel offered free breakfast during our stay or a ride to the airport, which was nice. Still, if we'd moved to a lower-tier room, they wouldn't have honored the lower rate.
The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed, and the location made nearby sights easy to explore. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and happy to help. Simone was especially kind and attentive, and his delicious breakfast was one of the best parts of our stay. We felt at home and would love to return.
