Trastevere Elegant Apartment

The hosts were kind and attentive, and the apartment itself is well equipped. Trastevere is a lovely area for walks to many of Rome’s sights, and the place works well for either a short or longer stay. Piazza San Cosimato, bakeries, grocery stores, cafes, and restaurants are all conveniently close. I highly recommend staying here.

We spent a month in Suite Paolo with our two kids, and the apartment was comfortable for all four of us. The beds were great, the air conditioning worked well throughout, and there was plenty of room to store clothes and luggage. The kitchen is small but useful, and we made several family meals there. The shower had strong water flow and a rainfall head. There’s a washing machine in the unit, though no dryer. Clothes dried on the racks within a day. The neighborhood was a big part of why we loved the stay. Trastevere has a good mix of locals and visitors, plenty to see and do, and it was lovely to come back to after sightseeing in central Rome. The apartment sits on the fourth floor of a nice building on a quiet street, with little street noise when the windows were closed. The central piazza is about a five-minute walk away. There’s a French bakery across the street, a coffee bar a minute away, and lots of restaurants and several grocery stores within a 1-to-10-minute walk. Bus and tram stops are about five minutes away, with taxi stands a little farther. Walking to the Pantheon takes around 20 minutes; Trevi Fountain and other sights are a bit farther, and Vatican City is about a 30-minute walk. We were traveling with another family who stayed in Suite Francesca, the other apartment in the residence. It’s a little larger than Suite Paolo. Both units have their own locked entrances, and having both meant the kids could play together and we could share meals. Renting just one is also an option, but if you’re traveling with another party and both are available, having both worked really well for us. Francesca was wonderful to deal with. Email and WhatsApp communication was quick and easy, she was always available for questions, and she shared plenty of good ideas for things to do. She and her family made an effort to help us feel welcome and enjoy our visit. We got to know them during the month and they’re lovely people. We’d definitely stay at Trastevere Residence again and recommend either apartment.

I’ve stayed in this lovely apartment three times now. It’s clean, the shower is great, and having a washing machine is handy. Porte Portese Sunday Market is about a 10-minute walk away. We were there most recently in August, when Rome was very hot, but the two units kept the apartment comfortable and cool. It’s in Trastevere, with good nightlife nearby, while the street itself stays quiet. Communication was easy. A big thanks to my host for making everything simple. TK

Trastevere Residence has self-catering apartments in Rome’s lively Trastevere neighborhood, with air conditioning and free WiFi. The Colosseum is 3 km away. Each apartment has a seating area with a flat-screen TV, a washing machine, and a bathroom with a hairdryer and free toiletries. The kitchenette comes with an oven and electric kettle. Campo de Fiori Square is 1.5 km from the property, and Roma Termini Train Station is a 15-minute drive away.
