The rooms were clean, carefully maintained, and comfortable places to unwind. Palazzo Velabro brings a modern, stylish interior into a historic building with a classic exterior, and the mix of old Roman architecture and contemporary design works well. It’s an especially convenient base for seeing the city, with the Colosseum and Roman Forum within walking distance. The hotel is right in the heart of Rome, yet the surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, which feels welcome after a full day out. A refined, relaxed stay close to the major historic sights.

The staff made us feel looked after and safe, and the rooms were clean and superb. It’s probably my favorite Marriott property so far. There’s a bit of a walk to sights and restaurants, but nothing too difficult. Absolutely fabulous hotel, highly recommend!

We were four people staying for two nights in November. The rooms had plenty of space and looked newly renovated, and the hotel has been remodeled with real style. Front Desk and bar staff were friendly and efficient. Stefania and the rest of the bar team were especially gracious and helpful. The one drawback was getting to the entrance. Several taxi drivers wouldn’t pull up to the hotel door because the road is narrow and they have to back up to leave. That was hard with an 87-year-old in our group. We had to carry luggage up and down two flights of steps several times to reach the lower road for arrival and departure. Apart from that, it’s a beautiful hotel in a prime location.

Even with a busy street outside, our room stayed wonderfully quiet. It was luxe, and the breakfast was delicious. My husband and I stayed four nights and really enjoyed it. The location is central and perfect for walking everywhere, and the staff were so kind and helpful. I’d recommend it.

The fifth floor has great views, and the hotel and rooms are both amazing and comfortable. The team welcomed us warmly and were very helpful. It’s well placed for tourist sights and restaurants, with bus stops nearby too. I’ll stay here again when I’m back in Rome.
